Monday, February 11

Things finally picked up a bit at 6 p.m. at Louise Goldin. Louise pushed her unique knitwear design forward. The silhouette was body conscious — often padded and crystal encrusted — with an emphasis on the shoulder. Pierre Hardy designed the amazing shoes; he did a great gray patent ankle boot with a multi-colored blocked knit panel. Emma Cook showed again this season. She used stunning PVC leggings that were clear with ink-colored tie dye. In the evening hours, I went to the Vanity Fair party hosted by Burberry. The photo exhibition included some true gems — Joan and Jackie Collins lounging in the back of a limo was one highlight. Lily Allen, Naomi Campbell, Bianca Jagger, Emma Watson were some of the guests. The PPQ party seemed to draw a teenage crowd and Rhys from The Horrors was holing court. We ended the night by checking out the new hot spot Punk. No Kate Moss on the turntable tonight, but there were some interesting characters — some on roller skates.
