Tara Palmer Tomkinson wants Emma for a possible film

So its not like, anything, but just a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny piece of an interview and Tara mentioned that she'd like Emma Watson to play the part of a character based on herself about a girl who goes into rehab. She's currently writing the book and has plans to make it into a movie.

If it were to happen, and Emma played the role. Do you think she'd do a good job?

I really would like to see her in such a movie. But I don't if she would be good, she never played a role like that, she only played very nice (and boring) girls.

Exactly, and not all the actors are good in everything (unless we talk about a reeeally good and experienced actor), and since Emma is still beginning, how could she know if she's the right girl? Wouldn't she want to find the best girl to portray herself and her story?

Oooh, I know, it's a good way to make people talk about her film, based on a book that is still being written. lol Name-dropping is always a good move!

Maybe she just wants a good-looking girl to portray her, popularity and money. eh, makes sense!

Possibly a good role, who knows. But by the time they actually make the film (if they make it) Emma will be into her 20s.
It's difficult to know if Emma would be good or not, we've only seen her doing roles very close to her own personality (even when they're not really supposed to :P).

personally, i think if it ever happened and emma took it, it would be her way of breaking out of the 'hermione' role typecast she's got going on. because if we look at the real life movie roles she's been given (ballet shoes & napoleon & betsy) the girls she's playing all have something similar about then? well i think anyway.

i think it could be a good role for her after deathly hallows

and yes anne, lol name dropping is a very good way to gain interest in something! xD

They don't look very similar. Emma would have to dye her hair darker, that could be a problem.

The only similarities are that they both are famous, have a lot of photos on cars, and like mini-skirts. Oh wait, Emma doesn't like them

If Tara wants Emma for the role then maybe she will get it.
It would be awesome to see Emma play a different character for once. someone real and gritty and rebellious.

And why would Emma have to dye her hair? Hermione is supposed to have brown hair, and Emma is blonde. *Shrug*

Weird, Hermione's a very fascinating character a bookish, prudish, know it all who would risk it all to help her friends when she doesn't have to. A person using her ability to acquire knowledge to save lives is the antithesis of what I would find boring. Plus the character of Hermione can be quite ruthless when things are at stake which really makes her interesting.

It's cool though. I guess everyone perceives characters differently.

Tara's actually really funny, and I adored her on I'm a Celebrity a few years ago. She's really done wonders to change her life around from the once cocaine addiction she had. And I think thats the story that the book is going to take. I think it could be a really good role for Emma if she wanted to take it!

Agree. I love Hermione ^_^

Hermione Granger is often referred to as ?the brains? of the trio, but there is so much more to her character than that, good and bad. She is loyal, brave, kind, extremely clever, jealous, petty and can be a dangerous person to cross. How many times does Hermione forsake a holiday with her parents, even though she rarely sees them, in order to stay and support Harry and Ron. And in book 7? OMFG, her loyalty is exceptional. She's exceptional!

This isn't a fight about Hermione, let Flo have an opinion, I disagree with her, but that's not the point.
So, I dunno, would be great to see her doing something like that, since I didn't like that whole Napoleon & Betsy storyline (now THAT'S what I call boring =\) but this character seems interesting. Let's wait & see.

I think if given the opportunity she should take it because it would be a great way for her to expand he acting skills and stretch herself a little more than she has.

I hope she could accept because maybe when Tara will propose her, Emma will have another film to do so she couldn't accept.

If the script is well-written, I would personally love to see Emma do it. We've seen her play in a sort of vulnerable role before, but never to the extent that this would allow. Also, it would be interesting to see her very crazy and loose in something which you can kind of see some of in the Ellen von Unwerth shoot. Once again, it all depends on the script since some rehab stories are well-done and other... aren't.

She needs to break out of playing the 'goody two-shoes' characters & into something which is more varied & 'out there'

It would also depend on the director. Emma has the looks to pull it off and she would be close to the right age by the time it gets filmed. It sort of reminds me of Erin Brockavich with Julia Roberts. The way they dress anyways.

oh and about the dying hair thing, emma wouldn't have to. after all the character would only be based on tara. emma wouldn't be playing tara.

lol now that emma's been name dropped i'll probably buy the book when it comes out to see if i think emma could play the role! xD

Emma and Tara both were at the Vanity Fair & Burberry Portrait VIP party last year. So they've most likely met, if they didn't know each other before that. That was a small party guest list wise. Also they both were at the pride of britian awards in 2007.

i'd probably buy it even if emma wasn't at all name dropped? i really like tara. so you know, emma's name being dropped would only want to make me buy it more.

see, name dropping emma, i don't think would boost up any kind of sales for tara. just because emma's not the kind of girl that's hugely popular it'd be different if she said someone like...oh i dunno, lindsay lohan? because lindsay has a lot of MEDIA coverage. emma doesn't.
